Over the last two weeks we have focused on some of the key foundations of a lifestyle business.
You likely have the foundational pieces in place and you are much more aware of how to support your personal needs. And you're starting to understand how to build your business inside the lifestyle business model. Now, we want to focus on your actual offers.
These income streams are the best fit for a more "hands-off" business approach to bring in consistent income while NOT needing to babysit them all the time. They are very flexible and can be designed based on how many hours you want to dedicate.
All three of these can be tailored more to fit exactly how you want to deliver your program, but the structure of how you set up the offers, create the automations, and invite people in wouldn't change very much. You can choose your first best fit right now to get started fast.
These three also make the perfect multiple income stream trifecta!
START A COACHING OR CONSULTING BUSINESS
The first income stream that fits the lifestyle business you're building AND highlights your zone of genius is coaching or consulting.
You can actually combine the other income streams into this one to give a lot of options to your clients.
For example, let’s say you lost 150 pounds due to mindful eating. You now want to coach others to follow the plan you’ve created and used the last five years to lose the weight and keep it off. You can write a book about your experience, then you can offer your coaching services to help others do the same, guiding them through the process using your book as the curriculum.
Or you can develop one solution to one major problem your audience has and make that your main thing.
For example, you lost 150 pounds due to mindful eating and now you want to create a coaching program where you coach women through the mindful eating mindset shift and transform their relationship with food.
There is a way to design a coaching program that can help you launch your body of work to the world, but first decide: will it be 1-on-1 coaching or group coaching? Or perhaps a combination of the two?
CREATE A MEMBERSHIP SITE
Another way to generate income is to start a membership site. Offer a way for members to chat with each other, keep the member area loaded with your eBooks, reports, checklists, worksheets, courses, and more.
You can create the pillar or cornerstone content yourself, as well as, outsource content creation by hiring a ghostwriter who can create regular information for your membership on a monthly basis.
Self-Study Courses and ebooks
One way to make money with your zone of genius is to write and publish eBooks and self-study courses. This is a very hands-off way to make an income without having to work one-on-one with individuals or sell many different individual products.
Start with developing and writing (or hire a ghostwriter) eBooks that solve your audience’s problems. You can publish and sell them in a variety of places, including your website or by using the platforms listed below.
Once the book is out and selling, you can then repurpose the book into a self-study course. Alternatively, you can do it all at once by setting up the course and making the book part of the course (like in my example above).
You can also choose to self-publish your books or self-publish digital books to Amazon Kindle to help you get an audience and get known for your zone of genius and expertise.
SOFTWARE THAT CAN DO ALLLLLLL THESE THINGS
There are only a few pieces of software that can do all these things, do them well, and do them as a consistent system that supports you. I have listed them below. Note: The links below are affiliate links. I complete believe in and trust these companies and have been working in all of them for years. I also use all of them in my own businesses.
Some software to use to help you birth all of these offers include Kajabi.com and ThriveThemes,com (an amazing WordPress plugin), or AccessAlly.com (also a WordPress plugin that has so much flexibility and allows you to create private client pages). All of these options allow you to create content for your clients and give them access to a private and protected site where they can engage more with you, your community, and/or your content.
AccessAlly is the only option that allows you to create private client pages where you can upload your Zoom recordings, assign homework or recommended resources, or just have a place to communicate privately during the course of your coaching or consulting time.
These three income streams can help you turn your zone of genius into income AND can do all the automations you'll need to run your (almost) hands-off business. These streams of income have been around long before the internet existed. However, now, with all the tools that internet technology has developed, you can run all three of these types of income from the comfort of your home office or even your kitchen table.
